There's never been a better time for RFID to take its rightful place in retail. RFID technology has caught the interest of retailers, and for good reason. As retailers face the rise of e-commerce and seek to combine digital with their traditional bricks-and-mortar offerings, the technology is evolving to help retailers meet this challenge. Brady RFID solutions, supported by the Nordic ID Technology innovations, identify items, collect data and transmit them to a computer system via radio waves.

Retailers using RFID technology to control the accuracy of their inventory, significantly increase their efficiency.

THE BENEFITS OF RFID FOR RETAILERS

For many retailers, this cutting-edge technology has become an integral part of their business as it can solve a number of long-standing problems in a cost-effective way. Implementing RFID in retail allows to accurately predict and track stock levels - whether in a warehouse or in a store. Retailers will know what's selling, what's not, what needs to be replenished and what needs to be restocked.

One mislabelled or misidentified product can bring the system down. A number of incorrectly identified products can cause a chain reaction that disrupts stock levels and leads to missed sales opportunities. We've put together some benefits RFID can bring to retailers.

ENHANCE YOUR INVENTORY ACCURACY

By implementing RFID, you can perform real-time inventory management, provide precise visibility into stock levels and prevent both stockouts and overstock situations. This enhanced visibility enables reducing safety stock by 10% to 30%, optimising inventory management and lowering costs associated with excess inventory.

RFID also enables you to increase productivity since our handheld readers significantly reduce the time spent on taking inventory. Instead of having to count stock, staff can now focus more on serving and selling to customers.

By using an RFID reader, a single person can scan multiple items in just a few minutes, allowing for more frequent inventory counts. This is because the readers do not need to be in line of sight to scan our RFID labels. Shipments are automatically received without having to scan each pallet and item separately.

These issues require new ways of doing retail and this is what our innovations are here to do.

IMPROVE YOUR BUSINESS AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

RFID enables your store to have visibility on all your individual assets from manufacturing all the way to the point of sale. Utilising self-checkout, versatile tagging, and improved tracking, you can ensure that you have eyes on your products during every step of their journey.

It also helps to improve the customer experience by creating a fast and frictionless checkout process. The RFID reader recognises and registers all tagged items that are in the basket simultaneously. This way, waiting times are reduced and shoppers no longer need to remove each item from their basket. It also minimises the risk of error associated with barcodes and allows staff to be deployed more efficiently since manual intervention in payment is no longer required.

The technology also allows you to track customer behaviour and purchase history, as it helps you to better understand their preferences and tailor their offers to their needs.

These diverse RFID innovations ensure that every step your product takes, every move it makes, you have eyes on it.

STREAMLINE YOUR OMNICHANNEL OPERATIONS

RFID is essential to omnichannel retailing for many reasons. For example, with RFID, there will be no more silos. If an item is still available in the store but is sold out online, you can sell more by merging store stock with distribution centre stock.

You can improve the customer experience, operate more efficiently and gain a competitive edge by integrating RFID into your omnichannel strategy. It speeds up the inventory and makes processes such as items location and replenishment more efficient.

RFID FOR REAL-TIME INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

RFID is used for real-time inventory management by placing a label on each item or pallet. These labels store the information about their contents. When the item or the pallet arrives at the warehouse, the labels on the goods send their data to readers located in the receiving and storage areas to ensure optimum reception of the signal. The readers use electromagnetic waves to transmit this information to a central warehouse management system.

The system processes and updates this data by sending information back to the RFID labels. This enables warehouse operators to take inventory in real time and manage advanced inventory transactions efficiently. RFID labels can also be used in specific locations, so choosing the right label is important. Our Sensor RFID labels are available to detect and measure environmental parameters such as temperature or moisture.

RFID FOR SELF-CHECKOUT AND CASHLESS PAYMENTS

Many stores have implemented RFID for self-checkout and cashless payments. The technology is used to reduce customer waiting times. The intelligent self-service solution enables the labels to be read, allowing the customer to leave the store more quickly. It makes the shopping experience easier. With self-checkout, the cashiers will be more available for the customers, even during peak hours.
