BMP61 Printer Label Library Update

Get the most out of your new labels
by updating your BMP61 Printer


We have recently made updates to our BMP61 printer label cartridges to enhance printing capabilities. To use newly purchased label cartridges you may need to do a Label Library update, use the process below.

Update printer if:

  • Printer displays "invalid media" or other media errors.
  • Printer is not detecting a custom part.
  • Printer is not detecting a part listed as compatible.

What you need:

  • Your BMP61 Label Printer
  • USB memory stick

What you need to do:

Step 1:  Download the latest Printer Label Library file on your computer.

Download now

Step 2:  Open downloads folder, right click file and choose “Extract all”.

Step 3:  Copy the Excel and BIN file to your USB memory stick, not within a folder.

Step 4:  Remove the memory stick, insert into your BMP61 printer and turn the printer on.

Step 5:  The printer will detect the upgrade files and show a screen prompt. Select "Upgrade" and hit “Enter” .

Step 6:  Select “Yes” on the next prompt to confirm upgrade.

Step 7:  You may be prompted with an option to delete files from the memory stick. Select “Ignore” if you have additional BMP61 printers, otherwise select “Delete”.

Step 8:  Remove the memory stick from printer and reboot the printer.

IMPORTANT: The printer will continue to try to update the firmware if you do not remove the memory stick.

Step 9:  Press FN + Setup and navigate to “Config” to confirm the YB database has been updated.
